Oversight Committee
The Oversight Committee is responsible for pastoral care of the Meeting's membership by keeping in touch with every member. Dealing with delinquencies, differences, illness, and material needs falls among the varied duties of the Oversight Committee.
Committee members pay special attention to caring for young people by providing assistance in understanding the principles and practices of the Society of Friends. The Committee provides information for seekers, inquirers and new members and appoints clearness committees for those desiring to join the Meeting, or those wanting to be married under its care. (A letter to the Clerk of Meeting requesting consideration for membership or for marriage under care of the Meeting initiates these processes.) Transfers of membership to or from other Meetings are also their responsibility. All of the above requires the Oversight Committee to keep an accurate list of members and attenders and to publish this Directory. The Oversight Committee meets annually with Worship and Ministry to coordinate their activities. Sub-committees of Oversight Committee include the Education Aid Fund Committee and the Funeral Committee.
